Ikea Linmon Desk Review

          Ikea is mostly known for being a very affordable store with a variety of options to choose from. Ikea offers many products that range from many different prices. Most items found at Ikea are very affordable. I purchased the well-known Black Linmon Tabletop with the Adil table legs from Ikea. It is well known for the price and the effectiveness for a gamer and student.  I have purchased these two items to build my own desk in my room. Based on the durability/use of this table, the overall price, and size, this desk meets all standards of comfortability for a student, gamer, and at home worker.  

           The Black Linmon tabletop has a length of 39   inches and a width of 23   inches. The thickness of this tabletop is about 2-inches. The tabletop is made completely of fiberboard from top to bottom with plastic edging. The legs included with the tabletop are called the Adil legs which are 1 inches wide with a height of 28 inches. In terms of size, the dimensions of this table are perfect because it allows up to 2 monitors to be mounted on this table and still have extra and sufficient space to use a laptop or notebook as well. One thing I wish was that the tabletop could be wider and much more adjustable, such as being able to adjust to different heights and easily accessible for different types of situations.

            The Linmon desk, put together can withhold up to 2 monitors and all my peripherals such as a keyboard, controllers, and all other small accessories. Even though the table is not made from wood, the fiberboard is perfect enough to withstand the weight of your everyday office materials. Adding any heavy additional items can cause the table to feel less sturdy and can lead to the desk to tilt because of the fiberboard. The durability of this desk relies heavily on its use. If more weight is added along with a notebook, pen, and body weight while writing then the desk will start to slowly deteriorate. The fiberboard also makes the desk more susceptible to scratches and stains. However, I believe this desk is exactly what you pay for.

            Ikea products all vary in price and material. The price of the Linmon tabletop was only around 15 dollars and with the additional 20 dollars for the 4Adil legs. The total price of the table is around 35-40 dollars. This price is fair compared to its uses and material. It gets the job done as a table in allowing me to do homework and game comfortably. Compared to other tabletops sold at Ikea this is most likely the cheapest one. I have no regrets in paying this much money for the table I own because it has lasted me around one-year till this day I haven’t had any major difficulties with it.

            In terms of size, the length of this table is about 40-inches. This size is perfect for me because I can mount both my monitors on this table and still have extra and sufficient space to use my laptop or notebook as well. One thing I wish was that the tabletop could be wider and much more adjustable, such as being able to adjust to different heights and easily accessible for different types of situations.

            As for my overall rating for the Ikea table, I feel more than satisfied with its functionality and its versatility. It adds a much better appealing aesthetic to my room. In regards to the material, there are obviously better options but with it comes a much more expensive price. As my first table, I would say that this Ikea product does its job.
